Week after week in MSL Mastery trainings, the same thing gets people talking: best-practice sharing. It comes up in our survey data almost every time.
When we first saw the pattern, it made perfect sense to Sarah. Medical Affairs is a lonely job. Especially if you are in the field. People don't get many chances to talk shop with someone who gets it. When do you ever get the chance to hang out with colleagues and just talk about email subject lines?
That appetite for specifics is everywhere. Especially at Medical Affairs conferences. Folks are tired of high-level fluffy stuff. We know the what. We need the how.
This came up in Patrina's DIA MASC 2027 planning meeting this week. An abstract on agents for MSLs sounded interesting. The committee loved the concept but unanimously agreed to ask the authors to bring the use cases.
Best practice sharing is great, but don’t make the mistake of stopping there. A good idea isn't enough. If nothing changes in your or your team’s day-to-day, then what’s the point?

Go from best practice to action in 2 min
Don’t let that great idea die a quick, silent death. Turn it into action with a concrete plan.
Take the best practice and your or your team’s goal and plug it into Mira (or your favorite AI tool):
“I want to borrow this best practice: [paste].
My role: [paste]. My goal: [paste].
Don’t make a plan yet. Ask me 2 questions that would change how I use this practice: 1 about what I do now at the moment it would fit, and 1 about what gets in the way.
After I answer, tell me exactly what changes the next time that moment happens. Include what I do afterward and how I’ll handle the obstacle. Skip meetings, pilots, and generic advice.”
Like getting AI to stick, you need to figure out what your current workflow is and then the barriers. This is how you can turn a good idea into something that gets you closer to your goals.
