Great news! People are getting more comfortable with AI. We love hearing managers tell us their teams are actually using what they learned in our training.
But all of our amazing AI training leading to all that AI adoption is creating another problem:
AI slop
Here's what we mean by AI slop. It happens when someone asks AI to do something, puts almost zero thought into the output, and sends it straight to their manager.
Managers can tell. And they are super annoyed:
“Oh yeah. We can tell.” Type of angry energy. 
On a debrief call this week, we were discussing an AI Power Moves for Insights training. The survey data showed that the team was definitely using AI more.
Amazing. Exactly what we wanted.
Then the manager said:
“Oh yeah. We can tell, but the quality is also going down.”
Ouch.
We put on our MSL hats to figure out the root cause here and what this manager meant. Here's what happened. An MSL had clearly used AI to create a deck.
But was using AI the problem?
No.
We literally taught them to use it. The problem was what the slides actually said. The deck looked finished. The thinking wasn’t.

The slippery slope of AI slop
It starts innocently. AI helps you get past the blank page. Then it helps you organize your ideas. Then it gives you something so polished that you stop asking whether it is actually good.
You review it a little less. You question it a little less.
Then you send your manager something that looks complete but actually says nothing and makes you look bad. 
Once is annoying.
When it keeps happening, managers stop trusting you. 
AI should make your thinking better
AI slop is not simply work created with AI. It is AI-generated work that no human truly finished or applied brain power to.
Before you send anything AI helped create, ask:
→ What is the actual point?
→ Is this actually coming through in the content?
→ Did I apply thought to this?
If you cannot answer those questions, it is probably not ready.
Use AI to build the deck. Use AI to improve the deck. Use AI to save yourself hours on the pressure deck.
But you still have to think about what the deck is saying. Otherwise, that AI power move becomes AI slop pretty fast.

TL;DR
AI adoption going up is a win, but more output does not automatically mean better output.
AI can help you create faster. But it doesn't make thinking optional. 
Before you hit send, make sure the work contains something AI could not add without you.
