Edition 65: Veeva Summit Article

We were standing outside the hotel on the 1st day of Veeva Summit.
The GPS was being janky. Boston was being hot and steamy.
Patrina says, “I think it’s this way.”
Then we saw a woman wearing an orange lanyard. So we followed her.
And somehow, that became the perfect metaphor for our biggest takeaway from Veeva Summit:
Sometimes the fastest way to figure out where you’re going is to find the people already moving in the right direction.
And keep reading for how to create this same kind of learning inside your own team.
The Real Value of Veeva Summit Was The Peer Learning
The best part of Veeva Summit was not just seeing demos of new features. It was hearing how other Medical Affairs teams are actually making things work.
Each session had time for questions. And people used it. The questions were detailed, nuanced, and practical:
→ How are you setting this up?
→ How are teams adopting it?
→ What changed in the workflow?
There are not many spaces where Medical Affairs teams can get out of their own internal bubble and compare notes like that.
We left inspired. And full of ideas.
The Practical Lesson for Medical Affairs Leaders
You do not need to wait for a big conference to create this. Try this in your next team meeting.
Ask each person to bring 1 thing:
→ One workflow that is working
→ One workflow that is clunky
→ One AI experiment they tried
→ One thing they wish they knew before they started
Then spend 20 min comparing notes.
But do not stop there. Bring it back in the next meeting.
Ask:
→ What did we try?
→ What changed?
→ What got easier?
→ What still feels stuck?
That follow-up is where peer learning turns into progress.
Prompt to Try: From the Dent
Veeva Summit worked because people were not just showing what looked polished. They were talking about what they had actually tried.
Copy/paste this into Mira or your company AI tool after a project, congress, launch, insight review, training, or cross-functional meeting:
“Act as a Medical Affairs learning strategist. I’m going to describe something we tried. Help me identify: 1) what worked, 2) what created friction, 3) what we should repeat, 4) what we should avoid next time, and 5) what another Medical Affairs team could learn from this. Keep it practical and turn the output into 3 clear recommendations.”
That is how teams stop learning everything the hard way.

TL;DR
The takeaway from Veeva Summit was simple:
- Find the people already moving in the right direction
- Compare notes before you reinvent the wheel
- Follow up so ideas turn into action
The teams that improve fastest will not be the ones with the biggest tech stack.
They will be the ones that learn out loud.
In your corner always,
Patrina, Sarah, Ralph & Jess
